The contenders in this category demonstrated excellent talents and exemplary determination on the second day of the event.
The competition among them is not limited to memorization only, but also includes showcasing their talents in Sawt (melodious voice) and Lahn (rhythm) as well as ability to name numbers of pages and verses.
Egypt’s 28th international Quran contest that kicked off in the capital, Cairo, on Saturday, will run until Wednesday, December 15.
Seventy-four Quran memorizers from different countries are attending this year’s event, which has been named after late qari Mohammad Sidiq Minshawi.
The panel of arbiters comprises twelve Quran experts from Egypt and number of other countries.
Winners will receive cash prizes totaling 1.1 million Egyptian pounds.
