Alireza Enayati, the Iranian envoy, said that Iran and Saudi Arabia are two important countries in the Islamic world and that their brotherly ties have helped promote the position of the Islamic countries in global developments, according to a statement from the Iranian embassy.
He also said that Islamic countries should be united in the face of outside challenges and work together for the common interests of the Muslim Ummah.
Sheikh Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, the Saudi minister of Islamic affairs, call and guidance, welcomed the Iranian ambassador and highlighted the efforts made by the Saudi leadership to serve Islam and Muslims.
He said that his ministry seeks, through its various programs, to demonstrate that Islam is a religion of moderation and calls for coexistence and compassion among all people.

Enayati praised the Saudi efforts to spread moderate Islam and serve the religion, pilgrims, holy sites, and the two holy mosques in Mecca and Medina.
He also praised the ministry for encouraging people to engage with the Quran by organizing recitation and memorization competitions and caring for mosques.
The meeting was part of a series of diplomatic contacts between Iran and Saudi Arabia, which resumed their diplomatic ties in March 2023 through a China-brokered deal.
