TEHRAN (IQNA) – People are very curious about their future, both the future awaiting them in the days and years to come and that awaiting them in the afterlife.

Surah An-Naba

The future is uncertain but there is very important and great news for humanity that Surah An-Naba talks about.

An-Naba is the name of the Quran’s 78th chapter that has 40 verses and is the first Surah in the last (30th) Juz.

It is Makki and the 80th chapter revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Naba means news and the second verse talks about Naba al-Azim (Great News), and hence the name of the Surah.

The main issue highlighted in this chapter of the Quran is the fact that the Resurrection Day is certain. It offers reasons for this and describes what that day will be like.

The Surah first talks about the stable and firm system ruling this world and offers examples about natural phenomena like the movements of the earth, the issue of creatures being create in pairs, celestial bodies, night and day, rain, revival of the earth and the rules governing these phenomena. Then, it underscores that the Resurrection Day will come and it will be the final appointment.

Surah An-Naba talks about great news and a significant event, namely the coming of the Day of Judgment, and, offering clear and indisputable reasons, underlines that it will certainly take place.

At the beginning of the Surah, people ask one another about the news of Resurrection Day. God then says they will soon learn about it.

Surah An-Naba talks about the events of the Resurrection Day and describes the status and conditions of good-doers and evil-doers on that day.

It say that on the Resurrection Day, all people are called to be judged before God. On that day, those who rebelled and disobeyed God in this world will be taken to a painful punishment and the pious who did good deeds in this world will move to everlasting blessing.
