The rally marked the 34th anniversary of the establishment of the Palestinian resistance movement, according to al-Maseerah.
Mushir al-Misri, a member of Hamas, said at the rally that resistance and struggle against occupation will continue in all its forms.
“Resistance has been and will remain our strategic policy,” he stated.
He called on those who try to impede the path of resistance to reconsider their position because, otherwise, it means they are actually moving in the same direction as the Zionist enemy.
Al-Misri also called on the Palestinian Authority (PA) to support the demands of the Palestinian people and abandon security cooperation with the Israeli regime.
He further said Hamas welcomes any efforts for unity in the Arab and Muslim world.
The resistance movement continues its efforts to secure the release of all Palestinians held in Israeli jails, he went on to say.
Founded in 1987, Hamas is the largest Palestinian resistance movement. Since 2007, it has ruled the besieged Gaza Strip and has since defended the impoverished enclave against four major Israeli wars, including the most recent 11-day conflict that ended in an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire in May.
