Leader Condoles Death of Senior Cleric

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei offered condolences over the death of Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Abbas Mousavian, who was a member of the Iranian Central Bank’s Fiqh Council.

 

In a message on Monday, the Leader described the cleric as an expert in economic Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Islamic banking and other related fields.

Ayatollah Khamenei expressed condolences to his family and colleagues, praying for divine grace and blessings on the cleric’s soul and patience for the bereaved family.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mousavian died in Qom on Sunday from the coronavirus.

Born in 1960, he held both seminary and academic degrees, including a PhD in Quranic sciences and one in economic Fiqh.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mousavian had a PhD in economic Fiqh and wrote a number of books on Islamic economy.
