Mohammad Khalaileh also underlined the ministry’s continued support and care for building and reconstruction of mosques in all regions of the country.

"The Kingdom, since its founding 100 years ago, has been established on the Islamic identity …" Khalaileh said in the Friday Khutbah (sermon) at the mosque of the late Hajj Jamal Duraidi in Sahab District, southeast of Amman, which was opened Friday.

He also highlight the Jordanian people’s commitment to a pan-Islamic heritage based on Islamic values, customs and authentic traditions.

Khalaileh called for praising God, the Almighty, in compliance with the Holy Quran, and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.

On building mosques, Khalaileh said that this process is a sign of faith and a rewarded deed, both materially and spiritually, for whoever involved in it.

The Awqaf Ministry, according to Khalaileh, is in charge of about 8,000 mosques across the Kingdom.

"That's why the Awqaf Ministry's budget is among the highest ministries in the country, which indicates its importance in terms of building and preserving mosques, and emphasizes the mosque's advocacy and social message," Khalaileh concluded.
