Taliban Unveils Palestinian Symbol in Kabul
TEHRAN (IQNA) – In a ceremony on Wednesday, a replica of the Dome of Rock was unveiled in the Afghan capital of Kabul.
A host of Taliban officials and people participated in the event. The replica has been interpreted as an act of solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli occupation.
The Taliban group have expressed support for the Palestinian people since last year as they took power in Afghanistan.
In one of their most recent statements, the Taliban condemned the deliberate killing of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh by Zionist forces.
The Iranian embassy in Afghanistan reacted to the recent development in Kabul. In a tweet, the embassy said that any measure which supports human and Islamic values and confronts occupation should be praised.
