TEHRAN (IQNA) – Al-Azhar Islamic Center warns that terrorist organizations, especially Daesh (ISIL or ISIS), have changed their strategies for attacks.

In a report on Tuesday, Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism said that terrorist organizations are sparing no effort in using modern technologies to implement their plans, especially in Europe, Alwafd reported.

The extremist groups have opted for using new tools for performing terrorist attacks due to their lack of resources and forces, the observatory added.

According to studies, terror groups, especially Daesh, are increasingly tending towards using simple but innovative methods and tools such as knife attacks, vehicle-ramming attacks, explosions using homemade explosives.

In countries such as Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan where Daesh have a field presence, the group resorts to the guerrilla strategy of attacking and hiding which leads to expansion of terrorism and undermining the countries’ security and stability.

With regards to Daesh’s activities in Western countries, the report continues, the group tends to use the lone wolf strategy through the infiltration of its extremist elements into Europe through illegal immigration.
