TEHRAN (IQNA) – A virtual Quran contest is planned to be held for Palestinians all over the world.

A Quranic institute in the Gaza Strip in cooperation with another one in Lebanon plan to jointly organize the online competition.

It will be held on Quran recitation and Tajweed on the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Lt. General Qassem Solemani.

The Gaza-based Iqra charity society and Lebanon’s Tawjih and Irshad” (guidance and counselling) society have invited all Palestinians living anywhere in the world to take part in the Quran contest.

There will be two age groups of 13 to 25 and 26 to 60, according to the organizers.

General Soleimani, Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Deputy Commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3, 2020.

The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassinations, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of then US president Donald Trump.
