Lahore Forum to Discuss ‘Role of Mosques in Welfare of Islamic Societies’

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Islamic Studies Department of Lahore Garrison University plans to hold a forum on the role of mosques in welfare of Islamic societies.

 

 

According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, it is slated for on December 30-31.

Recently, Aliakbar Rezayifard, head of the Iranian Cultural Center in Lahore, discussed the organization of the forum with Taher Masud Ghazi, head of the department.

The center hosted the meeting, which was also attended by a group of academic figures who visited different parts of the center.

The Pakistani academic official said that the department will organize the program in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center.

A large number of scholars and researchers from Egypt, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Jordan have submitted papers to the forum, he added.

Elsewhere, Ghazi said that the department started its activities in 2014 and now has 8 experts teaching different courses such as Quranic sciences, Hadith, Islamic law and Arabic language.

The Iranian cultural representative said at the meeting that the center has a good relation with different universities and scientific centers in Pakistan and tries to boost its cooperation with them in scientific, cultural and art fields.

He added that the center is ready to develop its relations with the Pakistani university.
