Speaking at a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Saturday, Rouhani said the two countries’ bilateral ties and trilateral cooperation with Russia, including those for peace and reconstruction of Syria, play a significant role in enhancement of regional stability.
He also hailed the steps taken in recent years for developing and deepening the relations between Tehran and Ankara.
Erdogan, for his part, said the two countries’ bonds have been growing and that Turkey is determined to further enhance the ties.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 5th summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Heading a ranking delegation, Rouhani arrived in Dushanbe on Friday night after a trip to Kyrgyzstan where he took part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
The ongoing CICA summit in Dushanbe is designed to serve as a platform for discussing and resolving problems in Asia, as well as for promoting initiatives and finding effective mechanisms at a high level.
