Christmas Celebrations in Tehran
Christians consider the birthday of Jesus Christ (PBUH) as the start of their calendar system. They commonly believe that he was born on 25th December and January 1 is considered as the official start of the New Year.
The Iranian Christians, welcome Christmas in advance; they hold the Christmas festivities with their special traditions.
