TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran competition titled “Tarateel” is planned to be organized in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, for teenagers and the youth during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Safa news agency, the Islamic Coalition of the Gaza Strip will hold the Quranic program in cooperation with Palestine’s Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs and the Dar-ol-Quran al-Kareem Center of Palestine.

Registration for the competition started on the first day of the holy month and students aged 11 to 24 can sign up for the event until the seventh day of the month.

The competition will be held in preliminary and final stages from the 10th to 17th day of Ramadan.

Quran memorization, recitation and Tarteel reading with observation of Tajweed principles are the categories of the competition.

The memorization category includes memorization of the entire Quran, and memorization of 20, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Book.

The main objective of the competition is to encourage students to memorize the Quran and identify talents in Quran recitation and Tarteel reading of the Holy Book.

Safa news agency, Al-Aqsa satellite channel, Palestine newspaper, Shahab news agency, Al-Aqsa radio and Quran Radio will cover the competition.
